Eastbourne is a South Coast resort, which boasts a splendid bandstand. The famous cliffs at Beachy Head are nearby.

I'm going to start this page off with an image photographed near Beachy Head. I liked the way the land folded across the central valley. I used a rather drastic "dust & scratches" filter in PhotoShop to give this a mistiness which I could see in the original scene, although my camera provided extra detail.

The other image from Beachy Head is of the lighthouse, which is at the base of the famous white chalk cliffs. It is therefore possible to look down onto it from the top of the cliffs, resulting in this rather unusual view of a lighthouse.

The reason I have been in Eastbourne on a number of occasions is because I have been playing on the bandstand with the Beckenham Concert Band. Here are two views of this beautiful old bandstand.

The rest of the images on this page were taken of the pier, including a close-up of the lion's head motif on the pier lamp posts; and a speed boat which had been winched up to hang at the end of the pier.
