When Stephen and I had finished looking at the Christmas lights in Oxford Street and Regent Street, we realised that it was the middle of the rush hour, so we decided to go and have a look in Trafalgar Square and wait until the trains were a bit quieter before going home.
These pictures were captured using a Pentax *ist DS digital SLR camera.

I always like a good fountain, particularly when I've got my tripod handy and can make the water "flow". There are two major fountains in Trafalgar Square, plus some smaller ones which spout water from fish. |

I took some close-ups of some of the architecture as well. Nelson, newly cleaned, stands atop his column. He's facing away from us in this picture and I never did get to go around the other side of him! Part of the roof line of the National Gallery always attracts me. It's quite Moorish in design. Finally, I turned around and realised that there's a direct line of sight from Trafalgar Square to the Houses of Parliament. This is the "other" tower on the Houses of Parliament. i.e. Not St Stephen's Tower, where Big Ben is housed. |
