The paddle steamer Waverley has been paying London a visit for about a fortnight at the beginning of autumn for several years and docks at Tower Millennium Pier.
My digital SLR, a Pentax *ist DS, was used to capture these images.

Then I moved around to the south bank of the Thames for some more pictures. Conditions were getting pretty dark and I didn't have my tripod with me, so had to rely on a high ISO setting and my beanbag to get shake-free pictures. The price I paid appears to be extreme graininess! |

I persevered for a little longer, and on the right you can see Tower 42, the Swiss Re Building (also known as The Gherkin) and Trinity House against an improbably purple skyline. |
