This page contains the pictures I selected to put together in an album for Jessie (Stephen's Mum) for Christmas 2002.
They were scanned using the CanoScan FS2710 film scanner.

Head in the Clouds - Bouncy Castle

Jessie, Stephen and I went to the Shoreham Heavy Horse Show on 1st September. The weather was good, as can be seen from this picture of the figurehead of a "Bouncy Castle" that was providing an activity for some of the younger show-goers.

Finchcocks Pond

Wrought Iron Reflections - Finchcocks Pond

The pictures on the left page were more pictures taken during our visit to the Shoreham Heavy Horse Show. The top two pictures show some of the birds of prey from Eagle Heights during their flying demonstration, while the bottom picture shows one of the entrants in a heavy horse class parading during judging.

The pictures on the right were taken at the Finchcocks Musical Instrument Museum, where there are gardens as well as musical instruments to be seen! The top picture of the pond showing its wrought iron dome was taken in August 2000 when I visited Finchcocks with a friend from Wales, while the lower picture showing the reflection of the wrought iron dome in the water was taken in May 2001 when Stephen and I visited Finchcocks.

Pages 4 and 5

Otford Church

The Bull In at Brasted

The two images on these pages are of buildings in places that Jessie knows very well. On the left is the church at Otford, which is lit up at night, while on the right is the Bull Inn at Brasted, which also boasts night-time illuminations.

Pages 6 and 7

Bird in the Tropical House at Newquay Zoo

Bearded Dragon at Newquay Zoo

Bird at Newquay Zoo

Raccoon at Newquay Zoo

As with last year, I managed to turn two pages at once while loading up the album, so these pictures from the holiday Stephen and I took in Cornwall appear a little earlier than intended! This double page of pictures were taken when we visited Newquay Zoo.

Pages 8 and 9

Cat sculpture at The Bentley Trust

Waterlily at The Bentley Trust

Stephen at The Bentley Trust

Stephen and I visited The Bentley Trust in September. As I didn't manage to include any "real" cats in this year's album, I put in this cat sculpture we saw on the roof of one of the buildings at The Bentley Trust. I've also included a picture of a waterlily, and a picture of Stephen watching me take the picture of the waterlily.

Pages 10 and 11

Newhaven breakwater viewed from Seaford

Beach Shelter at Bexhill

They're off and running at Lingfield

This spread of pages contains a couple of pictures from places that we visited with Jessie, and a couple of pictures that I just think she'll find interesting. The top left picture is of the old lighthouse at Dungeness, while the top left picture is of the Newhaven breakwater and lighthouse, as viewed from Seaford, where we took Jessie one afternoon. The top right picture is of a beach shelter near Bexhill, while the bottom right picture is of two little girls playing in the rain at Lingfield Races, where we took Jessie. The trip to the races was organised as a camera club outing, and somebody snapped a picture of Jessie and Stephen studying the race card very intently. I must find out who the photographer was!

Pages 12 and 13

Nature at The Eden Project

Artifice at The Eden Project

Here are some more pictures from the holiday Stephen and I took in Cornwall. As there aren't any "real" cats in the album this year, here are two more "pretend" cats to make up for it! On the left is Nature, representing plants that Man uses, while on the right is Artifice, representing Man-made things such as Coca-Cola, although here I have chosen not to show Artifice's cones of Man-made products.

I thought Jessie might like to see pictures of some of the flowers I photographed at The Eden Project, so I've devoted these two pages to flower images.

Polhill Windmill

Polhill is a place Jessie goes to shop at times, and she has seen this windmill many times. Unfortunately it broke during 2002, so it won't be lit up for Christmas, 2002.
