Groombridge Place is a moated manor house located on the Kent-Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells. Stephen and I visited during the Spring of 2004.

Although the house isn't open to the public, the formal gardens are, and from those gardens there are good views across the moat to the house. |

The flowerpot figure is outside the restaurant. On its left shoulder is a raven, which is part of the figure. Over its right shoulder you can just see a peacock displaying on the restaurant roof. |

Within the Enchanted Forest, there is a bluebell wood. |

There are a number of ponds within the Enchanted Forest. I particularly liked this one, which had a little grotto and waterfall at the back of it. |

The dinosaur and its eggs are also to be found in the enchanted forest. It's near enough to being a dragon that I think my Australian friend Ærchie might appreciate it/her! |

It is unfortunate that you can't see my best picture of the dinosaur, but it was a casualty of the second most stupid mistake I've ever made with a camera: I opened the back while there was a film in it and ruined two dinosaur shots on slide film. Fortunately I had these others on print film in a different camera. (My most stupid mistake with a camera was to try and economise on film and not get the take-up spool to grab the leader properly - and to not realise this until I'd taken about 40 "photographs"! It's the reason why there are no Cerne Abbas Giant pictures on my website at time of writing...) |
