One of the nice things about Crich is that very little of the site is off-limits. You can go and look around the depot and see some of the trams which are in working order, even if they aren't in use on the day of your visit. |

This was one of the prettiest trams in the depot. I'm probably a sucker for red paint, though! A quick check of the Crich website identies this as Johannesburg 60 - built in Preston in 1905, and the star of several film and TV productions. Looks like I'm not alone in thinking that this is a pretty tram! The red paint on this tram looks much better on my original 6 megapixel images, but space prevents me from putting them up on my website. |

There were various bits of tramway maintenance equipment in the depot. This particular combination of track maintenance equipment was out working later in the day and we saw it again up the other end of the tracks, although I didn't photograph it again. |

Note the bucket of tram sand! |

The single deck tram is a Brill type semi-convertible tram. The green double deck tram alongside it was built in 1936 and went into service in Liverpool. It was sold on to Glasgow in 1954 and withdrawn from service in 1960. |

The light maroon tram with the white detail has operated in Edinburgh, Blackpool and Glasgow. I couldn't find any information about its neighbours. |
